Facial Oil — Frequently Asked Questions
A serum is about delivering actives; a facial oil is about lipids — nourishment, glow and sealing moisture in. Oils go on as the final skincare step, where they lock in everything applied before them.
It depends entirely on the oil. Heavy, occlusive oils can clog pores; light, skin-compatible ones like squalane, rosehip and sea buckthorn rarely do. If you are acne-prone, use fewer drops, at night only, and patch test first.
Three to four drops for the whole face is genuinely enough. Warm them between your palms and press — do not rub — into skin. Pressing helps absorption and avoids dragging the skin.
