On the body, almost never — shea absorbs well and body skin is resilient. On the face, raw 100% shea butter can be heavy for very acne-prone skin, but that's not how it appears in good skincare: formulated into a balanced cream at proper percentages, shea moisturises facial skin without clogging. If you're very breakout-prone, use shea-based creams at night and lighter gels by day.
