A solid balm that melts on contact and lifts off sunscreen, makeup and the day's grime before your face wash ever touches your skin. Caprylic/capric triglyceride and jojoba do the dissolving; jojoba is close enough to skin's own sebum to shift it without scrubbing.
There is no water in this jar. That is the whole point: with no water phase there is nothing for microbes to grow in, so it needs no preservative at all. The two best-known cleansing balms both carry water and phenoxyethanol. This one carries neither.
The emulsifiers are polyglyceryl esters rather than PEGs, and the balm is set with candelilla, a plant wax, in place of the polyethylene used elsewhere. Unscented, because it is used around the eyes.

Match the face wash to your skin type: oily or acne-prone skin does best with clarifying ingredients like neem and tea tree that control excess oil and bacteria; dry or sensitive skin needs gentle, hydrating cleansers built around aloe or rose that clean without stripping. Combination skin can use a balanced neem face wash year-round. Whatever your type, choose SLS-free — harsh sulphates are the most common reason a face wash "doesn't suit" someone.
Twice a day — once in the morning and once at night — is right for almost every skin type. Washing more often strips the skin barrier, and oily skin actually responds by producing more oil to compensate, making the problem worse. The exception is after heavy sweating (gym, sports), where an extra gentle cleanse is fine. Consistency at twice daily beats aggressive overwashing every time.
Because lather and cleansing power are two different things. Sulphates like SLS create big dramatic foam but clean by aggressively stripping oils — that is what causes post-wash tightness. SLS-free face washes use gentler surfactants that foam softly yet remove dirt, oil and sunscreen just as effectively. Judge a cleanser by how your skin feels an hour later, not by how much it foams in your hands.

The only common caution is raw undiluted neem oil, which is potent and should never go directly on skin.
Yes, indirectly but effectively. Body odour isn't sweat itself — it's bacteria breaking sweat down on the skin. Because neem is naturally purifying, washing with a neem soap or body wash reduces that bacterial activity, which keeps odour lower for longer between showers. It's a root-cause approach: less bacteria, less odour — without masking anything under heavy fragrance.
Squalane is a light, stable emollient nearly identical to the squalene your skin produces naturally, which is why skin accepts it so readily. Ours is plant-derived from sugarcane — no shark-derived squalene, which older cosmetic supply chains used.

About Neem Cleansing Balm
No — they do different halves of the same job. A balm is oil-based, so it dissolves oil-soluble things a water-based wash struggles with: sunscreen, long-wear makeup, sebum. It goes on dry skin first, then you rinse and follow with your usual face wash. That two-step is what people mean by double cleansing.
Correct, and it is not a shortcut. Preservatives exist to stop microbes growing in water. This balm contains no water at all, so there is nothing to preserve. The risk that remains is water getting in from outside, which is why the jar ships with a spatula and why wet fingers are the one thing to avoid.
It is built to rinse off rather than sit on skin. The polyglyceryl emulsifiers let it turn to a milk once you add water, and that milk carries the oils away. Follow with a water-based cleanser and nothing is left behind. If your skin is very acne-prone, patch test as you would with any new product.
Because this one is used around the eyes, and fragrance is the ingredient most likely to cause a problem there. The two best-selling cleansing balms in the world are unscented for the same reason.
