Salicylic acid at 2% — the level the research is done at, and the level a product called a BHA toner should actually carry. The pH is held at 3.5–4.0 because a BHA does not work above that range; the number on the front means nothing without it.
Willow bark at 3% sits alongside as a supporting botanical. It is not counted toward the 2%. Willow bark is not a substitute for salicylic acid, whatever the category likes to suggest.
Centella at 0.5%, panthenol at 1% and allantoin are in there because 2% needs more comfort support than a token level does. Zinc PCA at 0.5% for sebum.
Niacinamide is deliberately absent. It is not stable at pH 3.5 across a shelf life — it slowly converts to nicotinic acid, which is what causes flushing. You will find it at 3 to 5% in our gels, where the pH suits it.
Start two nights a week and build up. This is the one product in the range you can overuse. Not with other acids on the same night, and not during pregnancy without asking your doctor first.

About Toner
A toner rebalances skin after cleansing, sweeps away the last traces of cleanser and hard-water residue, and preps skin to absorb serums and moisturisers better. Modern alcohol-free toners also add a first layer of hydration rather than stinging like old-school astringents. If your skin often feels tight after washing or your moisturiser seems to "sit" on top, a toner is the missing step.
Toner comes right after cleansing and before moisturiser. The full order is: cleanse, tone, treat (any serum), then moisturise — each layer goes from thinnest to thickest. Applying toner to freshly-washed, slightly damp skin also helps the ingredients absorb better and locks in some of that water before it evaporates.
Alcohol-heavy toners give an instant tight, "clean" feeling — but that is dehydration, not cleanliness. The alcohol strips the skin barrier, and oily skin responds by producing even more oil within hours, a rebound loop that keeps skin both greasy and irritated. Alcohol-free toners balance and hydrate instead, giving the same fresh feel without the dryness or the rebound oiliness.
